November was pretty laid back and seemed to fly by. Meeting up with friends for dinner and zoo lights.

The month of November starts off with a bang with my little brother Henry & Stephanie's wedding. All of our family and friends were attending and it would be the twin's first wedding they go to too. It was a huge event with friends flying into town from NYC to CA as well as overseas.
I was honored to be a part of the wedding and got to help with the flowers for the wedding. In my past life (i.e. before kids), my close friend and I would help do the flowers for many of our friends' weddings. My friend and I shared similar attention to detail and it was always so fun to finally see the outcome of all our hard work. Stephanie had chosen to go with sweet baby breath bouquets and purple roses for her flowers. The day before the wedding, all her bridesmaids, my sisters and I met at my house to start the work. I have to say that Stephanie's vision and planning were stellar! In assembly line fashion, we had completed all the bridesmaids' bouquets, groomsmen boutonnieres, family flowers, parent bouquets, toss away bouquet and centerpieces within 3-4 hours. I had the honor of putting together Stephanie's purple rose bouquet. Her friends took lots of fun pictures and one of them even whipped out a selfie stick - first time I had ever seen one! Then we all met later for the rehearsal dinner at Panda House.
The next day was the wedding and the ceremony was held at the Chinese church which was Stephanie's home church. The twins, Will and I made it just in time and sat in the back of the church so that we could easily remove the kids if they decide they were in destructive moods. Overall, they did ok but it was a definitely one of the longer events we've ever had them sit through. Thanks to whoever brought a bag of candy because that was how we were able to keep them in their seats half the time. The other half, Will had to take turns holding them in his arms.

After the ceremony ended and all of the pictures were taken, we all lounged around and caught up with our out of town friends. This church had steps going up to the stage which all of the kids decided was the best playground ever. They started running along the stage, climbing up and down the stairs and basically played in any creative way they though of.

Will's aunt was kind enough to babysit the twins for us so that we could enjoy the reception by ourselves. What a beautiful and fun wedding!

So I'm a little behind on this blog and here's my attempt to catch up.
My goals around fall/winter was to involve the twins in all the celebrations around this time of the year. They had a ton of fun at the pumpkin farm in October. October is also when our good friend throws a killer Halloween/Birthday party for her son who turned 2 this year. She always gets an abundance of delicious food, provide the best kid-friendly entertainment such as a balloon artist/face painter this year complete with swag bags that celebrity younguns would envy. This all culminates in a fun costume contest which all age groups were considered with prizes for all the winners. I lost count of the categories but Ainsley who dressed up as a ladybug won the toddler girl costume contest!
Then Halloween arrives at the end of the month and is celebrated with our neighbors who host an outdoor party with goodies and everyone brings their treats to pass out from their driveway. It's been an ongoing tradition and the twins got to really join in the fun this year. So much fun that I saw Ainsley take off running down their driveway toward the street while Will chased her down, finally tackling her right before she made it out on the road. Carter also skips down the driveway behind Will, giggling and cheering his sister on.....thank goodness he didn't also run into the road. This all happened when I took my eyes off them for a second while attempting to grab a bite.
There were some great kid costumes and we met new neighbors and got to catch up with ones we hadn't seen in a while. Conversation is not the same though when you always have to keep an eye on the kids though but it was still nice nonetheless. One of the neighbors brought his new Siberian husky pup over and Ainsley was overjoyed and following it around. Carter attempted to join a kids dance party and spun around in his giraffe costume.

Here the kids are being silly and wearing hats I crocheted for them a long time ago. I can't believe they still fit. Ainsley loves to take my phone and pretend she's talking on it. That goes along with her personality of always wanting to do what adults do.

This month also marks a milestone. My parents who usually watch them went on vacation with my sisters to Walt Disney World so Will took the week off to watch the twins. He started to potty train Ainsley who responded really really well to bribery. One cookie for pee pee and two cookies for poo poo.

Halloween fall fun used to mean seek out the scariest haunted house around town and see how many friends I can drag along for the ride. Nowadays, it means something different.....for the next few years at least.
In October, we went to Jacquemin Farms for a hayride and pumpkin patch. The kids loved the play area which consisted of corn kernels and trucks. There was even a small straw maze but the twins were too young for that as well as the bounce houses they had. Next year perhaps.

We never thought it would happen but Carter and Ainsley like the bounce house!! Woohoo, all those times we tossed them in there finally paid off.

I had always wanted to take the twins to a county fair once they got older and this summer was perfect. All the distractions of the rides and people should provide enough entertainment that should lead to some good eating.
The kids were entertained but I'm not sure they ate as well as I'd liked.
Then they got sick some time later over the summer. Worse was that we were all sick and felt miserable. Here are pictures to show how desperate we got when they wouldn't stop crying during dinner.

Will had a quick dentist appointment and we ended up bringing the twins there with us. I never knew my dentist had a fun kids area.
