Five Months!!!

The twins are starting to get more mobile now. As you can see, Ainsley doesn't even want to remain sitting and wants to crawl towards the camera.

"You talking to me?!"

"Yah!!!!!!!"

Big Nimmo. Little Nimmo.

End of June fun

The twins had another special visitor at the end of June. My best friend from college, Christy, was in town with her husband and daughter. They were in town for a pageant that her daughter was in and came to visit Carter and Ainsley.

Girl time!

More visitors! The twins are so lucky!!

Later that day, we all attended our friend's baby boy Frank's one year old birthday party. The birthday boy did his cake right here. I have to say that this is my favorite cake moment for a one year old.
Did I get a little cake on my face?

Grandparents come to visit

So last week, Grandma Mattox-Baker came to visit..  She gave mommy a chance to get out of the house, and helped me feed the twins.

Then today, they got a visit from Grandpa Nimmo; This was their first experience meeting anyone with more than stubble for facial hair:

Busy fourth month

June started out calm but then got really busy, really fast. My uncle and his family came into town to visit and it was their first time meeting all of the babies. The twins took to them really well, particularly my Aunt Cindy who adored them. We all met up at the yummy Panda House restaurant on Polaris and there was an obscene amount of food that took up every square inch on the table. Aunt Cindy graciously offered to hold Ainsley and when I asked if she had eaten, she said she wanted to hold Ainsley instead of eating. That gave Will and I a couple of minutes to devour as much as we could before Carter woke up from his nap.

Where everyone tried to recover from food coma.
Then the exciting part. Will had been wanting to take the twins swimming ever since they were born. He had read somewhere on the Internet that within 3 months of being born, babies have the instinct to swim from being in the womb for 9 months. Since it's on the Internet, it must be true. Unfortunately, due to them being born in the middle of winter and the risk of them catching a stomach bug at the public pool, we haven't had the chance to take them swimming yet. My uncle and family were staying at a hotel with a pool and had planned on swimming in the evening. Finally, Will gets to take the babies to the pool!
Here is Carter with Will and my sweet cousin Katie. Carter did alright but did not know to close his mouth when water went up to his lips.
Nicole is holding Ainsley here who was prepping for her swim lesson. She did quite well and was able to stay in the water longer than her brother.
The following day was another exciting one. We were taking Carter and Ainsley on their first road trip ever up to Toledo, Ohio. It was a nice, easy two hour drive. The trip up to Toledo went super smooth. We left immediately after their initial 5am feeding and they napped for two hours for the whole drive. Once there and out of their car seat, it was like musical chairs with all the different aunts who took turns holding them. Funny but by the end of the day, I was starting to miss holding my own babies!

My aunt who didn't need to eat because she was full-full of love for Ainsley!

Just kidding, she does eat. Here I was trying to snap a couple of pics of family eating dim sum in between bites.
Carter getting some love too.
I always say that Carter is more particular than Ainsley and he really showed it that day. He was upset and fussed while everyone took turns trying to soothe him.
Turned out that he had a dirty diaper! Oops!

The drive home was a lot less successful than the morning drive. Carter and Ainsley were overtired from all the attention they got. While Ainsley slept on the drive, Carter cried for practically a whole hour of the drive. Once we got closer to home and he stopped, Ainsley started. Twin power I tell ya.
