Fall Halloween festivities!!

Halloween fall fun used to mean seek out the scariest haunted house around town and see how many friends I can drag along for the ride. Nowadays, it means something different.....for the next few years at least.

In October, we went to Jacquemin Farms for a hayride and pumpkin patch. The kids loved the play area which consisted of corn kernels and trucks. There was even a small straw maze but the twins were too young for that as well as the bounce houses they had. Next year perhaps.

Bounce!

We never thought it would happen but Carter and Ainsley like the bounce house!! Woohoo, all those times we tossed them in there finally paid off.

Delaware County fair & other summer ongoings

I had always wanted to take the twins to a county fair once they got older and this summer was perfect. All the distractions of the rides and people should provide enough entertainment that should lead to some good eating.

The kids were entertained but I'm not sure they ate as well as I'd liked.

Then they got sick some time later over the summer. Worse was that we were all sick and felt miserable. Here are pictures to show how desperate we got when they wouldn't stop crying during dinner.

Popsicles for dinner!!

Will had a quick dentist appointment and we ended up bringing the twins there with us. I never knew my dentist had a fun kids area.

Little Getaway to Florida

After slowly accepting the reality that we will be expecting another baby and that traveling by ourselves might become a distant memory, we decided to take a trip to Orlando, Florida at the end of September. My sister was amazingly sweet to offer to keep them for a long weekend so that Will and I could get away. Florida worked out since it wasn't too far away and remained in the same time zone so we could Skype with the twins. Plus, we thought it would be fun to rub in their faces who we got to hang out with at dinner.

The best paella we had ever had was in Celebration, Florida. Even over the paella at Barcelona in Columbus, Ohio and the paella in Barcelona, Spain. I still dream of that paella.

Here was where we ate it - Columbia Restaurant.

Here was what it looked like. I left two bites because I had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes at this point and worried about how this heavenly seafood rice dish would affect my sugar. What a shame - my sugar rocked the entire long weekend.

It was an amazingly relaxing four days. We spent two days just laying out in the sun and enjoying jumping waves at Cocoa beach and spent the other days shopping. The kids didn't really miss us at all and were quite happy when we would all Skype together.
